My Sister's Place, Inc. is a faith-based residential life-recovery program in Calera that helps women heal from addiction, abuse, and trauma through a structured program combining Christian principles with the 12 Steps of recovery. Their mission is to rescue hurting women, restore their sense of identity, and return them to their communities as healed individuals.
Current Initiative: The organization is collecting items to create care packages for their 60 current residents.
They're seeking donations of:
Personal care items (toiletries, shampoo, conditioner, lotions, body products)
Snacks and individually packaged candy
Writing supplies (pens, pencils, notebooks)
Entertainment items (coloring books, colored pencils, word search books)
Accessories (purse/tote bags, inexpensive jewelry, makeup, chapstick, fidgets)
Handwritten notes of encouragement
Collection Details: The church community will gather on Wednesday evening, August 27th to assemble the care packages together and pray over them. Collection receptacles are available around the church for donations leading up to this date.
