Position: Full-Time Youth Director/Pastor, reporting to Senior Pastor
POSITION SUMMARY
The Youth Director is a full-time ministry position that focuses on the Evangel Youth. Responsible for developing and implementing youth events that foster spiritual growth and community among the youth (grades 7-12) at Evangel Church. Generally responsible for ministering to the Youth and to be a resource to their families.
EVANGEL COMMUNITY
Evangel Church, PCA is located in Alabaster, AL, which is a city of 34,000 about 15 miles south of Birmingham. We have a membership of 375, and numerous ministries, including a Classical Christian school and a home school cover. We are looking for a candidate who can lead, teach, and disciple our students, currently numbering about 45, with a love for them and a commitment to mature them in Christ.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan, teach, and supervise Wednesday Night Youth Group meetings.
With assistance of Leadership Team and Youth Committee, organize youth events throughout the year.
Plan and lead annual summer retreat, outreach events, and mission trips.
Responsible for supervising and shepherding interns and Leadership Team volunteers.
Manage the annual youth ministry budget and generate expense reports.
Attend staff meetings to help with ministry planning for the church.
Maintain MinistrySafe standards, ensuring all records and trainings are up to date.
Maintain a relationship with Evangel schools by occasionally attending extra-curricular events and teaching two chapel services a year.
Teach students to serve others by planning outreach events and creating a culture of service.
SECONDARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and lead new Young Couples Sunday school class: teach, coordinate other teachers, organize fellowship gatherings, connect with young husbands/fathers.
Assimilation of Young Couples: work with the Assimilation Pastor, Nursery and Children's Coordinators to integrate new young couples into the church community.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
A consistent commitment to personal spiritual growth as he pours his life into our Youth.
A deep love for Jesus Christ demonstrated through faith and obedience to God's Word.
An understanding of and commitment to teach the Reformed faith.
Experience working with students in a church or para-church organization preferred.
Strong relationship, communication, and organizational skills.
Bachelor's degree preferred, desire to pursue seminary education preferred.
Responsibility for Youth Ministry electronic communications and social media presence.
Knowledgeable about youth culture of today and issues youth face.
Desire to exemplify, teach, and foster spiritual maturity in your interactions with Youth.
Willingness to obtain a passenger endorsement CDL license.
