What types(s) of services do you have and are the two morning services different?

Evangel currently has one Sunday Morning Worship Service (10:15 a.m.) The worship service of Evangel Church is an opportunity for the body of believers to come together corporately to ascribe praise and worth to our sovereign, transcendent God, to adore Him in the beauty of His holiness, and to draw near to our immanent Savior in worship with reverence and awe. The centrality of God's Word is emphasized through expository preaching. The musical selections, which are a blend of traditional hymns to contemporary choruses, are chosen based on content, rather than any particular style. The regular participation of the Evangel Choir & Orchestra in both services seeks to help facilitate and lead congregational worship.

How can I learn more about Evangel, the PCA denomination, and Presbyterian doctrinal beliefs?

Our Inquirer’s Classes is scheduled on several Sunday evenings throughout the year, and is a great way to learn more about Evangel, our history, our ministries, beliefs, doctrine, theological distinctives, church government, the sacraments, our denomination (the Presbyterian Church in America), and our mission and purpose. How can I listen to sermons if I miss a week?

There are two ways to listen if you have to miss church due to illness or travel. The 10:15 service is "live" on the web, streaming in real time. (The site is linked on the home page of this website.) The sermons are also available on CD for a small fee. A request form for a sermon CD is available on the welcome counter immediately outside the sanctuary.

What age is your nursery provided for and do you have a special needs program?

Our Nursery is for ages infant to three years old. We have Sunday School for ages 2 and up and when a child turns four and promotes from the 3 year old class, they will have a Sunday School class outside of the nursery area for their age and then during the second worship service children are excused after worship to children’s church. We also provide a nursery for ages infant to twelve years old for special functions such as small groups and weekend fellowships.

We do not have a specific program for special needs. However, we love and welcome all children with special needs and strive to provide what each individual child needs based on their specific needs. If you would like to visit our church and have a child with special needs, please contact Michelle McCaleb at nursery@evangelchurchpca.org.  She will talk with you about what your child needs specifically, meet with you on the Sunday you would like to attend (if requested/desired) and help you to make sure your child is exactly where they will be the happiest and safest.  We will gladly provide one-on-one care should that be needed. Our goal is to provide care so that the parents can spend time in worship and fellowship knowing that their children are being cared for at the highest level possible.


Do you have a Children's Church, and what ages attend it?

We do have a Children's Church which meets during the sermon for all children ages 4 and 5. Older children stay with their families throughout the service, while younger children are kept in the nurseries.
