Below you will find the book selections:
February 8 Tending Roses by Lisa Wingate. Wingate draws upon her own experiences with her
grandmother to tell this story of a young woman and her family. She is tasked with convincing her aged
grandmother to give up her home and land that means so much to her. Katie struggles with doing what
is right for her grandmother, as well as for her own family.
March 8 The Book Woman of Troublesome Creed by Kim Richardson follows the life of a Kentucky
packhorse library service employee who diligently braves many dangers and difficulties to bring books
to Appalachian people of the back woods. It also chronicles the troubles of the blue skinned people of
that area during the 1930s,
April 12 The Last Green Valley by Mark Sullivan is an historical fiction of the Martels, a family caught
between the warring forces of the Soviets and Nazis at the end of WWII. Their hope of fleeing both
armies and the hope of escaping to America illustrate the faith, love and determination to survive and
live in America.
May 10 We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter is the true true story of a Jewish family separated
at the start of WWII. As they separate they vow to survive and reunite after the war.
