Matt 25: 40 “Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even to the least of them, you did it unto Me…” |
Outreach is a natural response to those touched by the love and mercy of Christ. As we reach out to those in need, whether hurricane victims, local families in dire needs, or children at Christmas time, we proclaim the love of Christ to them. The women of Evangel have many opportunities to do outreach on both large and small scales. Every October, we begin to collect items to go into shoeboxes which will be given to children thousands of miles away; in December, we buy gifts for needy children on the Angel Tree. Every February, we help with the Missions Conference, and every spring we have a large outreach – sometimes to local charities, other times to overseas places. Last fall, we made lap blankets for needy senior citizens in nearby nursing homes and collected needed items for Sav-A-Life Shelby Ministries. The women of Evangel believe that outreach should be to our local community as well as those overseas. As opportunites arise, more outreach projects will be planned for this year!
