Spiritual growth is not an option for believers, but a command. Women at Evangel take seriously the above command to grow in knowledge. Therefore, we offer several Bible and topical studies which encourage and strengthen our women in the walk with the Lord. Studies generally begin in September and run through November. We offer both book studies and topical studies, but most often we offer studies on books of the Bible. We have a deeper, more intensive Bible study and one that has less homework. We have 3 -4 different studies meeting. The studies meet both day and night, and all studies now have a nursery available.
Fall 2011 Women's Bible Studies: Wednesdays in the Ladie's Parlor 11:00-12:30 . Study of Proverbs: Each wise saying in the book of Proverbs and the main themes touch on all the main issues of life. As we read and study by faith, they will also remind us of Jesus Christ, who is the true wisdom of God. Led by Nancy Kitts. Nursery available if needed: contact our nursery director, Michelle McCaleb mccalebm@bellsouth, 205-281-9626 to let the nursery know. Tuesday evening Bible study. 6:30 pm Ladies Parlor. Great for mommies that home school, work, or are unable to get away for a morning bible study. Led by Molly Hindman. Thursday morning Bible Study. Ladies Parlor 9:30-11:00. Studying the Friendship of Women by Dee Brestin, Led by Patti Ketcham. THE SPIRTUAL GROWTH COMMITTEE The Spiritual Growth committee is the largest committee in Women’s Ministries. Led by Amy Goodsell and Betty Harris, and with Carol Smith helping choose books, the committee decides which studies will be offered, finds teachers for the studies, and determines any “theme” the studies might follow.
